Questions About Local AI Automation, Answered
Straight answers about working with us, what it costs, how long it takes, how we handle privacy and texting rules, and what happens after launch.
Working with us locally
Do you come to us, or is everything online?
The free audit is by phone or video, and most of the build happens remotely inside your apps, so we don't need to take over your office. When it helps, for example to demo your prototype, see how your front desk handles calls or walk your team through a new setup, we'll come to you. In-person visits are free anywhere in the GTA and Simcoe County.
Which areas do you serve?
In the GTA: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham and Oakville. In Simcoe County: Barrie, Innisfil, Orillia, Midland, Collingwood, Alliston and Wasaga Beach. If you're nearby but not on the list, ask.
Who will I actually be working with?
Scott Holmes, the founder, an Ontario-based AI automation builder. The person on your audit call is the person who builds your automation, walks you through it and supports it afterwards.
Do I need to be technical?
No. We explain everything in plain English and build inside the tools you already use. You get written documentation and a walkthrough, and if you can use email and a calendar, you can run what we build.
Cost and timing
How much does AI automation cost?
The audit is free. Single automations, AI agent builds such as a phone receptionist, and optional monthly support each have a published starting price on our pricing page. Every job gets a fixed price before work starts, and software subscriptions or usage fees are estimated with you up front.
Do you really build a prototype for free?
Yes. After the free 30-minute audit, we agree on one job, and I build a working prototype of it in 5 business days, free, with no obligation. It's built on your real tools in a test setup, or on sample data you provide, and never touches live customers. You see it on a video call or in person, free anywhere in the GTA and Simcoe County. It's possible because AI coding tools now do the mechanical build work, such as wiring and testing, about 5x faster; understanding your business still takes the same care. If you don't go ahead, you owe nothing and keep a written summary of what it does and what the full build would cost. I take on 4 a month, first come, first served.
How long does it take to get an automation running?
The free prototype is working within 5 business days of us having sample data and test access. Once you approve the fixed price, the production build is typically live in about 2 weeks. Simple jobs can be quicker; an AI phone receptionist or a build that connects several apps can take longer. You'll know the timeline before you approve the price.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No long-term contract is needed for a build. You approve a written scope and a fixed price for a specific job, and that's the agreement. Monthly support after the included 2 weeks is optional and month to month, so you can cancel anytime. You own what we build, including the workflows, prompts and documentation.
Privacy and texting rules
How do you handle privacy and PIPEDA?
We design every automation with PIPEDA, Canada's private-sector privacy law, in mind. Each step only receives the customer details it needs, access is limited to the people and apps that need it, and we tell you which outside services an automation uses before it's built. Where data location matters, we can host in a Canadian cloud region such as Azure Canada Central or AWS ca-central-1. We don't claim any privacy certification.
Are automated texts allowed under CASL?
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) covers commercial texts and emails, and we build with it in mind. A text-back to someone who just called you is a reply to their enquiry. Review requests and follow-ups go to people you've recently done business with; under CASL, implied consent generally lasts two years after a purchase and six months after an enquiry. Every message names your business and includes a way to opt out, such as replying STOP. Promotional texts only go to people who have agreed to receive them. We're not lawyers, so for anything unusual, check with yours.
Will an AI phone receptionist tell callers it's an AI?
Yes. It always introduces itself as your business's automated assistant at the start of the call. That avoids an awkward moment later and keeps your customers' trust. It can still hand the call to you whenever the caller asks for a person.
Can you work with clinics and their patient information?
Yes, with care. For clinics we keep automations to bookings, reminders and forms, and leave clinical records in your practice software. Ontario clinics also have health privacy rules (PHIPA) to follow, so we go through what data each step touches with you before anything goes live.
After launch
What if an automation breaks?
Tell us and we fix it. For the first 2 weeks after launch, support is included. After that, optional monthly support covers fixes, or you can ask for help when you need it and get a price before any work is done. Most breaks come from a change in a connected app, such as a new password, a renamed form field or an expired connection.
Can we change the automation later?
Yes. Businesses change, and automations should change with them. Small adjustments to wording, timing and rules are covered by monthly support; bigger additions get their own fixed price first.
What tools do you build with?
n8n, Make.com and Zapier to connect apps; Retell AI and Vapi for AI phone agents; Twilio for texts and phone numbers; Claude and OpenAI for the AI steps; and the business tools you already use, such as QuickBooks, Jobber, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
Still have a question?
Ask it on a free 30-minute audit by phone or video. You'll also leave knowing which 3 jobs in your business are worth automating.
